Make sure you sedate the dog when doing the OFA or Penn HIP Xrays as a slight movement in the dog could cause skewed results.

Yup. Different clinics/doc offices charge different prices. You pay the vet (clinic), then you pay a fee to have the test done with the respective organization. $40 for a dog over 2 years with both elbow & hip tests. That reminds me...

They must be sedated so consider having any other needed procedures done at the same time while your dog is out!!!!!!!!!!!

Try & find a doc that has done dozens, has vast expierence doin these tests for reliable results!!!!!!!!!! Ask just exactly how many they have done, these tests aren't cheap & you want someone familiar with doin the standard, not pussy footing around!!!!!!!

I went on the site and I couldn find an age either, Vet told me at 15 months is the best age to get it done. Icis is almost 10 months old, teka is 7 months old, and beefy is 4 months old. From looking at Icis looks like she may have some bad hips. Vet check them (not by xray) but said her hips feel fine, But somthing is off to me. And i'm not an expert at all so i can;t tell but I know somthing aint right there. She is very very BIG for her age and her joints concerns me. I'm also creating a grown health log on her. And It will post the info of the website soon.

If you're vet knows what they are doing and they've done it before, all you'll need to do is tell them what tests you want done and they'll know what and how many scans to take. It's all on the offa or penn-hip site though.
