I Always Hear- So And So Stud Is Such A Great Producer, Or That Female Is A Badass Producer... For Every So Called Producer They Have Produced Crapy Dogs Probably More So Than Exceptional Ones....they Just Never Get Posted Or Noticed. So My Question Is: Do People Give To Much Credit To Either A Stud Dog, Or A Certain Female, When Instead They Should Be Giving Credit To The Combination Of Both Male And Female. And Not Be So Quick To Lable A Dog "a Producer"

| Some people use it too much. Every dog can be a producer, but to me what makes a great producer is having more quality and great productions than average and faulty productions. I think Monster is a good producer. Heff IMO as well, although I've heard that he's been bred a lot and not always selectively. But from what I've seen Heff is a nice producer. Jammer is a nice producer, thus far, and so is Mega. Kryptonite looks like he is a good producer thus far, but still isn't proven. But I don't think that a dog should be called a proven producer until his stock is over a year old. And a great producer not only produces consistently majority quality and nice offspring, they also produce producers...

Yup, that word is over used for sure. They're more about hype than anything else.

Thanks For The Responses Fellas To Me People Should Focus On Certain Combinations Instead Of Certain Dogs. Last edited by KRYPTONITE; 11-22-2008 at 08:38 AM.

Once a nice production is producing than the first sire/dam is officially a real producer

Not neccesarily in my opinion. ABKC may need to start giving ROMs. LOL Some dogs produce nice dogs consistently that go on to not produce well, produce well with closely related blood, and some produce well most of the time no matter the blood. So, what I'm trying to say is Fido can be a nice producer if he produces nice dogs consistently. However, if Fido produces nice dogs that in turn produce nice dogs, then he's a great producer. Cairo produced, but he never outproduced himself IMO. But Lil Ro helped produce Paco and other studs., and Paco helped produce nice dogs as well. Same for Cai, except he seems to throw nice females more consistently... Pedee outproduced himself, and so have Ro, and Cai in my opinion...

I dont know but it takes a while to determine , and far as Cairo I know nothing about him other than the pics ive seen, cant call it unless I woulda seen him in person, for all i know he coulda looked like any other big dog, but he did kick off alot of dogs that throw, his blood is used , but Ill never say he was the greatest, thats cause I never met him

Its also peoples opinions, they might like a dog they have an if it produces the same thing then ther gunna be like , he or she is a great producer right? But all mostly opinion , some people have diff interest an different dogs , its just a matter of what they like an how the outcome of the breeding takes place

to me a dog is a producer if it out produces itself or reproduces itself consistently. There are way to many dogs out there that don't produce that are called producers. Another factor would be for it to be a producer it has to be bred to several bitches or studs wit different ped's and if it still out produced every time or recreated itself, then THat dog is a True producer! JMO Question - If a dog has easty westy and other faults and produces easty westy and other faults consistently why are they called producers? Next - When is confirmation, structure going to come into play?
