| I like how your dogs are built. Super muscle with nice definition as well. I know genetics plays a big role. But can you please share how you workout your dogs on a daily basis. I'm in need of new ideas. Thanks!

| My Main thing I've always done is to figure out what will most motivate each dog. And then I try to find some variety so they dont get bored. Frisbee, Fetch, Tug, Chasing the water coming out the hose, walking on or off leash, Springpole, Flirtpole, chasing/racing the quad.............. When I lived In Cali...I had no acreage, but I did have a few things to work with. There was a cliff that went down to the beach. I would take my dogs to the beach so we were looking back up at the house. I would chuck a tennis ball into the backyard and Neyna and Conan would race to get it. Neyna would take the stairs and Conan would just run straight up the vertical(40 foot) cliff face. They'd keep fetching that ball until I made em stop. We also had that beach.....so we'd go for 2 walks a day. Right behind the house was a 65 x 12' slab that had walls or fountains on all sides. The slab was painted....and slick......lol I would hose it down so that it wasn't hot on their feet and I'd have them wait for my command at my feet...... I'd launch a kong or ball or whatever across the slab and boom they'd go running and sliding across the slick surface. It was like hockey/rugby/football - lol That was our day.... We'd do the cliff running after a morning walk.... Then they would play on the slab 1 - 3 times a day..... Then a nice long walk/jog on the beach. If Conan was still hyper....I'd let him play race up the cliff again. Did that for 2 years....... Point is... Gotta make do with what you got. NOW..... I can do anything with the space i have. To me nothing beats whatever gets ur dogs to max intensity. The single best tool ever is the Quad. AT this point I am doing a 4/2/1 program. Main component of the workout for the 4 days is sprinting. For example day 1 - 5 miles of sprints day 2 - 6 miles of sprints day 3 7 day 4 8 day 5 no sprints....flirtpole 2 - 3 times and 1 - 2 long walks day 6 no sprints same as above day 7 no set work thats how we do |

Great post. I agree, finding what they enjoy and using what you have is key. Passion hates the treadmill, but loves to go on walks, and play chase. Riot loves the treadmill, he's alright on walks, he loves to chase and run around. Caine hates the treadmill, but loves just about everything else. Put 'em all together in an open field and they'll work themselves out though. LOL

| Thank you very much for the very extensive post. You're right on, make do with what you got. I have no quad, nor space for one. So thats out of the question. Right now i'm doing flirt pole sessions every day along with tug-o-war. I take the dogs out for 2 mile walks 6 days a week. I would love to add another excercise to the routine but not sure what. They love the walks, I guess I need to find a park with rugged turrain and slopes to make it more challenging for them.

| That's true! I just need to find an open field with no other dogs around. They go nuts when they see another dog. lol

| NO problem brutha..... Fetch, Frisbee, Springpole....any of those? ANother Thing I do and its definitely one of my favorites...lol I love to put all my dogs into our main fenced yard and then just whoop everyones ass -- LOL Nothing more fun then just chasing em around and then wrestling with em. You should see Justice haulin ass trying to get away from me when we wrestle.....LOL.....She is too Funny. Mega will just charge me and when he does...Neyna gets excited and joins him. Hiro waits before he joins in. He knows once i'm tired I'm much less likely to catch him -- LOL By the way... Great Job with keeping the activity level up....Thats awesome. All those walks n flirtpole sessions n games of tug will create a bond that will never die. |

| Great post, I love the flirtpole and sprints, tug of war is awesome also cuz it amazes me everytime how strong these dogs are. At my best I could bench 515 I'm probably down to about 430 now and when Tyson and Chongo are on the other end it's usually me quitting!!
