Advice with buying new puppy

I am going to be buying a new pup from a kennel and I am about to send the deposite and i was talking to a friend who used to show/breed and said I shouldnt send any money until i have seen pics of all the puppies cuz im buying first pick and that way I know im getting the first pick. Im a pretty trusting guy so i was about to send the money today to him cuz I thought this was just regular with people even putting down deposits before the breeding happens.

Make sure you get a contract that lays out the whole deal.

If you send a deposit make sure you do it through a way that you can prove you sent a deposit.

and make sure he's got the reg paper and the time frame of when he's going to send out the pup and paper work..

well he did send me the contract for purchase/health garantee and everythibg looked good. as for the papers this is what he said exactly "On the papers, No they will not be ready upon shipment. I will not sign the litter registration until I or you have the puppy in one of our possession."

He bred his male to a female at another kennel and that where the pups are now and said the pups would be able to be shipped at 8 wks or so, which i think is a little too young.

Oh and i was going to send the money by check

Shady owners/breeders are everywhere.

I WOULD NEVER SEND MONEY FOR a pup I HAD NOT YET SEEN -

Better off being patient and buying EXACTLY what you like.

How do you know you want a pup if you haven't seen em?
Buying based on ped alone is a big mistake - imo

ya you guys are right once he sendsme the pics and if the pup looks worth the money i will send him it, otherwise ill wait for a diff breeding that produces good pups

Take a look at what is available here on Clubbully, there's some really fine pups around here! You can see what you are getting & pics of the parents & see what the lineage or pedigree is like!

Get a contract & I wouldn't take a pup off a breeder with out papers unless they were giving it to me! Then I'm still reluctant, I want papers. We've been promised papers & waited 6 months to get them only after pestering the kennel to get them!

Alot of times people will know things about the breeder that you may want or need to know, not saying thats the case but like it was stated above, there are very shady people in this breed.

militant kennel I made a thread in the kennel review section to try and get some more info on them but didnt come up with any. Ive been talking to him for the pas 2 weeks and he seems pretty good but ya there are a lo of shady people in the dog industry

he said since they are only 2 weeks old its hard to get good pics of them. Also said he'd be picking her up from the other kennel in 3 weeks, isnt that too soon to take away from the mother??
